Welcome to Karrie Ann's Longarm Quilting!
Professional longarm quilting in Homer, Alaska.
I am Karrie Ann Youngblood, a professional longarm quilter located in Homer, Alaska.
My husband Tary and I are lucky enough to live on beautiful Kachemak Bay with our two Golden Retrievers, Harley and Keela, along with our two cats D.C. and Baby. We have three children and 12 wonderful grandchildren.
I have been sewing since high school. When my kids were young, I loved to make their clothes and all their Halloween costumes. I took my first quilt class in 1998 but really didn’t get into it until 2003. I love everything about quilting, from picking the pattern and fabrics to the process of making the quilt top. For a long time, I sent my quilt tops out to be professionally quilted, but always had the desire to finish them myself.
In 2012, Tary bought me a Pfaff 18.8 midarm quilting machine for our 25th wedding anniversary. I started practicing with this machine, found I absolutely loved quilting and had a knack for it. In 2013, I decided to quit my job as a mortgage lender and started quilting full time.
In early 2014, I up-graded my Longarm to an APQS Millennium that I named Aine. She is an amazing machine, and I love working with her. She sits on a 14-foot table, so I can do very big quilts on her. In September 2017, I added to my longarm family with a 2017 APQS Lenni. I named him Aiden. With that purchase I also added a computer system to Aine. Up until that time, all my quilting had been hand guided. All my custom work is still hand guided, and E2E patterns are computerized.
My studio is in my home in a clean, smoke-free environment. I work by appointment only, so please call or email me for the best time to discuss your quilt. If you are mailing your quilt, be sure to let me know ahead of time so I can confirm it has arrived and discuss your options for quilting.
